May 19, 2016 Cause You Ain’t Getting Younger or Prettier…

Have you ever stared at something so long that the lines and shapes start to disappear or change? I remember spending so much time in front of the mirror trying to make my nose a little smaller, my legs a little longer and my butt-chin a little more shallow.

“I hate when you offer someone a sincere compliment on their mustache and suddenly she’s not your friend anymore.”

We all have some sort of feature that we may feel is out of place. Have you noticed how the more you look at it, the more prominent it becomes? The more I focused on the things I didn’t like, the more insecure I became. It’s easy and common to become obsessed about our looks. Our desire to be an image of perfection, only leads us further away from it.

Only the ego seeks perfection. It can never be satisfied.

So much time and energy is invested in front of the mirror, trying to shade, re-shape, tweeze, pluck, hide or even style ourselves in such a way that will make us feel like how we want to look. All of this is a mask; an illusion. As good as we may feel for the moment, it is only for the moment because we will have to continually repeat the process daily. As we tire from the monotony, so too does our looks.

Don’t take mirrors seriously. Your true reflection is in your heart.

The more I tried to understand myself in depth, the more I came to realise that my exterior is part of a false identity. I came to question, “Who am I really?” Our true identity is hidden behind layers and layers of self-denial. Our true self is not what we see starring back at us in the mirror. The true self is a formless energy that contains the knowledge of who you really are, why you are here and what you are meant to be doing with your time.

“What?! Are you calling me a ghost?! Am I really that ugly??”

Ahh…no. Your physical form is a manifestation of your energetic self. Once I understood this, I was able to see how I had wasted so much time focusing on the exterior. By connecting with my energy body, I was able to start to feel the divine beauty within. This was something far more satisfying that plucking my eyebrows or styling my hair. Now, I could be full of confidence and have a zest for life regardless of how I looked.

“So how do I glamorize my energy body?”

It is as simple as eating clean, bathing in the ocean, meditating and being aware of emotional hygiene. Everything you feed your body, becomes your body. Every thought and every feeling that you carry becomes a part of your truth. The more love you express, the more your energy will radiate. The more you meditate, the more clear you will become. The more you marinate amongst nature, the more invigorated and recharged you become.

“That sounds amazing! Is all that available pill form?”

When your energetic self is clean, it will manifest on the surface in physical form. Just as our clothes become dirty and tattered without proper care, so too does our energy. We become plagued with energetic filth upon physical contact with other people, in addition to collecting their emotional drama. Without being aware of this, our energy becomes confused with an assortment of energy.

Meditation is the like Tide to your clothes!

Sexual activity with multiple partners who have no understanding of their spiritual existence is a very good way to become energetically gross. We may become confused, anxious, angry or depressed without warning. As our clothes become “ewww” without proper care, they collect a foul and unpleasant odor; this is also true with our bodies.

Our energetic condition will manifest on our physical body.

As you spend more time dedicated to your true identity, you will become whole with yourself. Your entire life, inside and out will become one of balance. This balance will bring much peace and tranquility within your mind, body and spirit. The resulting effect to your body will be a luminescent glow that rivals any high-end makeup product.

As bad as it is cuddling someone with bad body odor; it’s worse cuddling someone with poor energetic hygiene.

Your true self is infinite and formless; it transcends time. The more you acknowledge your true identity, the more its timeless beauty manifests on your physical self. Soon, you will no longer define any feature as “unsightly” or less than perfect. The effects of this invested time is eternal! Now if that hasn’t got your attention, I don’t know what will! At the very least, you won’t have to you lie about your age anymore.
